Job Description

Wood Mackenzie is seeking a highly motivated global LNG Vessel Tracking Analyst to join our Global Short-term LNG Analytics team.  This role is integral to maintaining and developing our expertise in LNG vessel tracking, fleet datasets and analyzing LNG volume movements.  You will be working closely alongside experienced analysts based in Singapore, Spain, UK and US to analyze the trading and short-term LNG markets as part of our short-term LNG service.  In addition, you will be applying analytical skills to our proprietary datasets to help create client reports, and answer market queries. You will also take part in future development of the shipping product. This is a full-time Analyst role, based in India.

 

About the role 

You will be responsible for ensuring our LNG voyage history is kept up-to-date and accurate, and that any unusual patterns in our shipping data are investigated and resolved.  Your role is key for the efficient running of our regional market analysts, who will help you ensure that local import/export statistics are consistent with the global datasets.   You will be working closely with our team of shipping analysts in US and UK, to help in the delivery of a weekly LNG voyage report for our clients to better understand LNG flows on a granular level.

You will also be expected to contribute to the analytical content and the writing of our monthly LNG shipping analytics report, being guided by our experienced LNG short-term and shipping analysts.  You can expect to partake in client queries, particularly when this relates to historic shipping data and forward chartering forecasts.

As we develop out further our LNG short-term capabilities, you will find yourself at the center of our product development program – helping Wood Mackenzie grow and enhance the shipping product while establishing it as a central piece of the next generation of the company’s products.

The level of appointment to which band on the company banding structure will be dependent on your skills, experience and capabilities demonstrated at assessment prior to offer of employment.

Qualifications

About you and how you can excel in this role

Your required skills and qualifications include:

•            BSc or MSc engineering, economics, data science or shipping/logistics

•            Advanced MS Excel skills

•            Experience working with large databases

•            Experience working with data visualization tools

•            English (fluent spoken and good written)

•            A strong grasp of the LNG shipping market

•            Exposure to programming languages desirable (Python in particular)
