Job Description

Wood Mackenzie has an exciting opportunity for a Director of the Americas Marketing team to join a fast paced, dynamic global professional services organisation. This is an opportunity for a forward looking individual to drive the B2B demand generation strategy & execution in the Americas and work closely with Sales to meet regional revenue targets.

Role Purpose

This role is challenged with managing a high-performing Americas marketing team and overseeing the development of the regional marketing plan, executing to budget and cultivating a team of best in class marketers. They will be measured on their ability to drive demand, amplify the brand and acquire & understand audiences, while operating with an innovative & creative mindset.  

The role holder will work closely with senior leadership, sit on the Regional Leadership team, and therefore needs to be someone comfortable working with teams across all divisions within Wood Mackenzie.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Hire, develop and retain a team of talented, commercially minded professionals
  • Develop, drive, deliver & measure effective marketing programs for the Americas in support of company objectives, regional priorities and revenue targets
  • Tailor global and regional programs and assets; create or commission new market–specific programs to be activated in the market
  • Use buyer insights to segment and optimize target audiences
  • Work with your counterparts in EMEA and Asia on global programs and sharing best practice
  • Engage with Sales to understand sales goals, identify marketing opportunities, and gather feedback on marketing activities
  • Analyse local pipeline volume, performance and forecasts, including specific views for sectors and territories
  • Develop and implement pipeline acceleration programs jointly with sales
  • Build and execute on ABM strategy for strategic accounts
  • Manage the lead process for the region
  • Work closely with Account Managers to ensure leads are followed up and to get feedback on lead quality and customer wins
  • Work with Product Marketing in support of go to market activities including product launches and enhancements to drive demand
  • Work with the Events team to ensure synchronicity of messaging, audience targeting and maximize program reach
  • Work with PR & Content Marketing to amplify content through program and social activities
  • Work with the Digital team to deploy tactics in support of contact acquisition, online engagement and generate leads
  • Support Consulting’s regional strategy and build programs to uncover market interest
  • Evaluate, select and manage vendors that contribute to local demand marketing programs
  • Measure ROI for all activities and build in A/B testing and optimization strategies

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and entrepreneurial commercial leader with at least 10 years' experience in Regional/Field Marketing.  You should already have strong senior relationships and be capable of quickly building on these with senior stakeholders.  Strong domain knowledge and a proven track record of delivering results are important. It will be beneficial if you have some knowledge of the energy & commodity markets

You will have;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Extensive experience in leadership & change management
  • Experience managing teams across multiple locations with diverse skill sets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports & peers
  • Gravitas and confidence to gain credibility and respect
  • Demonstrated experience of senior stakeholder management
  • Experience in building, mentoring and coaching a team and driving a high-performance culture
  • Strong digital marketing skills
  • Knowledge of the B2B sales cycle and how to identify opportunities to maximize demand generation, pipeline contribution and sales opportunity acceleration
  • Ability to align tactical plans with strategy
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Ability to translate business objectives into Marketing goals, operational requirements and measurements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation
  • Demonstrated experience of fostering a winning culture and delivering and exceeding expectations
  • Ability to creatively run your regional budget
  • An energetic, tenacious, results-orientated approach
  • Demonstrated good judgment in resource utilisation and optimization and delegating when appropriate
  • Passion for growing the business and a genuine interest in developing yourself
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Clear thinking, strong partnering ability with others, highly effective working practices with marketers
