Job Description

As a member of the software development team, you will help build, enhance and troubleshoot AIR’s casualty analytics platform, Arium. You are expected to work in an agile team to help plan and design new features, write clean, testable and performing code, provide automated tests, as well as resolve customer issues. Your day to day responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintain and enhance the mathematical modelling platform underlying Arium, with an emphasis on quantitative engineering.
  • Merge code and infrastructure to produce software that is scalable, robust, and efficient.
  • Design and develop functional and responsive web applications by collaborating with other engineers in the Agile team.
  • Develop REST API Services.
  • Liaise with other parts of the team, both technical and non-technical.

The successful candidate will play an active role in developing and enhancing the risk quantification services in our back-end, produce efficient, scalable and testable code, as well as provide assistance in trouble shooting.

Qualifications

 

  • Software development experience using Python
  • Thorough understanding of how to build scalable systems in a cloud context, AWS preferred
  • Thorough understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of JAVA, data serialization (e.g. Protobuf), data base systems, JavaScript/AngularJS/TypeScript are beneficial
  • Good command of English in a software development context
  • Capability to take on new concepts quickly
