Job Description

Verisk IoT/ Telematics is seeking DevSecOps architect to lead the security, compliance and automation aspects of our IoT/ Telematics suite of applications hosted on AWS infrastructure. You will join the core technology team responsible for the exchange for connected cars and home that is one of its kind in the world! You will have an opportunity to work with exciting, cutting-edge technologies that will enable us to deliver innovative, fast, scalable and reliable products to our customers.   

In this role, you will be working alongside a diverse group of talented individuals that are responsible for creating and maintaining high traffic, API/web products depended on by top auto manufacturers and insurance companies for their daily business. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide subject matter expertise, define and implement best practices and processes for securing the application and data for IoT/ Telematics applications suite.  

  • Participate in security reviews, audits, penetration tests, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling. 

  • Build a continuous audit solution to ensure adherence to security and compliance policies defined by for our central cloud services team.  

  • Lead/ drive security awareness and security knowledge sharing with teams to foster a culture of security. 

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability for the solution. 

  • Coordinate and collaborate extensively with Agile Development Teams and serve as focal point for communication across teams.  

  • Lead the setup and configuration of CICD pipelines and support/resolve technical complexities to integrate various DevOps practices as part of a CICD implementation  

  • Recommend and implement automated means that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including scripting, integration, problem resolution, and configuration management.  

  • Proactively seek out and minimize pain points 

  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and introduce them as needed 

  • Create next-gen solutions for unique and challenging use cases. 

  • Lead a team of junior engineers, provide guidance and mentorship 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science / Computer Science / Information Technology  

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant overall experience and 4 years in an AWS environment 

  • Have strong sense of ownership 

  • Be focused, passionate, and strive to find simple solutions to complex problems 

  • Sound understanding as a security consultant over requirements ranging from network, security, cloud, audit and assessment to security architecture and DevSecOps 

  • Very strong understanding of the Application Security landscape and Secure Software Development Lifecycle.  

  • Experience leading DevOps implementation in large programs especially integrating applications, reengineering and automating systems to improve end-to-end software life cycle management by means of automation.  

  • Integrate application security into the software development along with CICD pipeline 

  • Very strong technical knowledge of IT processes to include configuration management, networking, database management, application coding, availability, data center operations, etc.  

  • Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with ever changing requirements and prioritizations 

  • Experienced in improving processes and documentations 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Preferably certified in AWS skills 

  • Preferably with experience on the following AWS Services (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Batch, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, RDS, Athena, Glue, Redshift, CloudFormation, Route 53)
