Job Description

  • Product Management - Manages assigned P&C Auto underwriting product(s).  This includes developing strategy, pricing, contract structures, packaging and bundling, and enhancement opportunities. The PM will be responsible for developing client materials, user guides, and training documents. The PM will also be responsible for developing relevant and detailed reports to understand and manage sales, revenue growth, and customer level results. 

  • Product Development - Responsible for developing and maintaining a steady pipeline of new products and existing product enhancements related to assigned product groups. 

  • Sales Support - Supports the Sales organization with product materials, training, meeting support (SME), proposals, insights, customer conference management, competitive information, etc.  The PM will also be involved with helping with new client testing and onboarding.  This will vary from customer to customer working closely with the Operations team.

Assigned product (including advanced vehicle technologies (ADAS, Autonomous Vehicles), Vehicle and Driver data underwriting solutions, fraud and rate integrity solutions, etc.) task list: 

  • Increasing year over year revenue

  • P&L management – support finance budget and forecasting processes (data costs), conduct cost benefit analyses on strategic initiatives

  • Oversee financial performance of products - complete duties such as pipeline management and revenue forecasting 

  • Work with sales team to provide customer meeting support

  • Produce proposals, RFPs, customer presentations and pricing models

  • Devise product enhancements in line with revenue growth strategy

  • Identify and manage strategic growth initiatives (e.g. third-party system integration)

  • Partner with Marketing on messaging, collateral development, campaigns

  • Partner with Operations on customer proof of concept tests, messaging, and presentation of results

  • Partner with Account Management on growth opportunities with existing customers

  • Provide new customer implementation support

  • Provide product training for new hires and Sales employee

  • Work with Operations and Development on enhancements to customer-facing solutions

  • Partner with Government Relations to stay on top of regulatory activities and communicate relevant information to the Sales organization and customers

  • Listen and respond to Voice of the Customer

 

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years P&C Auto insurance experience with demonstrated track record in underwriting or product management within an insurance company, industry support vendor, or related. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Actuarial and Data Sciences, Risk Management, or related discipline.  Advanced degree or insurance designations (e.g. CPCU) desired. 
  • Strong familiarity with P&C Auto insurance markets, to include underwriting practices, risk data, rating processes and variables, rate integrity/rate fraud programs, emerging technologies including ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles, and Verisk and competitor products. 
  • Strong analytic aptitude required.  Must be able to assess and address complex business problems as well as understand detailed customer workflows in order to identify business opportunities for Verisk solutions across the organization.  
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, revenue generating environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor.  Must be able to communicate on a business and technical level with all levels of management, including Senior Executives.
  • Sales & solution minded
  • Experience with gathering and assessing competitive intelligence. 
  • Ability to travel periodically (e.g. 25% of the time) to Verisk offices, customers, business partners, and industry events.
