Job Description

  • Execute on complex analytical assignments to validate extreme event models.
  • Demonstrate strong command and aptitude for understanding of advanced statistical and mathematical modeling concepts.
  • Perform explicit and or implicit validation of scientific/ financial/algorithms to ensure that products meet requirements for output reasonability 
  • Paying extreme attention to detail and quality, show consistent rigor in working with large amounts of data, over long periods of time
  • Mentor and review work of a small team of qualified analysts.
  • Collaborate with cross functional and offshore teams in consistently delivering projects with high fidelity and traceability.
  • Drive development of detailed test plans and timely execution and delivery of multiple products that have concurrent delivery schedules.
  • Author and defend details technical documents and results of analytical work
  • Implement and or expand use of automated testing practices throughout the life cycle
  • Ability to multitask effectively is highly desirable and key to success at this level.

Qualifications

  • Strong Post-graduate degree in engineering, science or mathematics from a reputable academic institution
  • 5-7 years of strong hands-on experience in a computational analytics field required preferably in a commercial software development environment.
  • Thorough understanding and hands on experience with large data management tools including but not limited to SQL, R or SAS and Excel.
  • Prior experience as a software developer in any modern object-oriented languages is a plus.
  • Experience with building and validating numerical probabilistic models in engineering, science or mathematics is highly desirable.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a diverse and multicultural organization is critical.
  • Logical and clear thinker and ability to make sound process driven decisions is required.
  • Knowledge of software life cycle processes, tools, quality tracking metrics tools is very useful.
