Verisk 3E is searching for a Software Quality Assurance Manager to be based in one of our US offices: Carlsbad,CA ; Bethesda,MD; or Canton, OH.  As a Software Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead a talented and diverse group of QA Testers across multiple locations. You will also have a hands-on role with testing.

Employee Development:

• Hire and train employees to be effective testing specialists, who adhere to company and department standards, follow and refine established testing methodologies, and work in concert with Engineering, Infrastructure and Product and Services teams
• Establish Goals and Objectives for all employees that align to business unit objectives
• Identify employee performance issues, and work with management on corrective action processes
• Perform staff evaluations and performance reviews in a timely manner

Strategic Initiatives:

• Contribute to the vision and direction of Software Testing across Verisk 3E creating metrics and analytical tools to track progress
• Establish and improve guidelines for identifying and reporting defects, ensuring all testing resources adhere to standards
• Work closely with software development staff to improve testing and release processes

Product Testing Process Management:

• Design and implement new product quality processes throughout Verisk 3E
• Actively participate and contribute in reviews of requirements, design, schedules, and test plans
• Monitor and maintain configuration control by ensuring applications are not released to production until completely approved, accepted and documented
• Manage all documentation related to testing for content accuracy and completeness

Department Specific Duties:

• Provide day-to-day support for department employees, responding to issues as appropriate
• Develop annual budget, monitoring monthly expenses to plan
• Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan
• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

• 10+ years experience developing and executing application test plans and Quality Assurance
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Proficient understanding of web development technologies including SQL, .Net, JAVAScript, C#, XML
• Experience working with multiple data structures and formats but not limited to MS SQL, ORACLE, MS Access, flat files, Excel, JSON and XML
• Ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment with tight deadlines
• Experience developing test automation is preferable
• Experience with SAP and AWS would be beneficial
• Certification, minimally to LSS Green Belt level, or 3-5 years process improvement experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience, required
