Verisk Maplecroft is a provider of datasets and written content that assess environmental, human rights, political and economic risks. The Client Solutions team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s content management systems, client-facing platforms and APIs that deliver our data and written content to our clients.

Role Purpose 

Verisk Maplecroft is a trusted advisor to clients in many sectors, including natural resources, financial services and consumer goods. As a member of our consulting team, you will soon find yourself contributing to research-based and advisory-led consultancy projects across a broad range of offering areas including political risk, ESG strategy, climate change, sustainable procurement, and more.

While the main activities of the role will be undertaken within Europe, the job holder will be involved in projects spanning other regions, such as the Americas and APAC. The successful candidate may be expected to have some short-term European and international travel.

Main Responsibilities

Conducting primary and secondary research from a variety of sources and utilising a range of methodologies: You will support senior consultants and project managers to provide high-quality content for client deliverables. This will require the collection, synthesis and interpretation of information drawn from different thematic areas and geographies, and collaboration with other teams within Verisk Maplecroft.

Data collection, preparation and analysis: You will evaluate, assemble, and apply statistical methods to analyse data and generate useful insights for clients. Sources of data may include our in-house proprietary datasets, client data and external datasets.

Creating and contributing to the production of analytic outputs uniquely tailored for clients using a range of formats, including PowerPoint, Excel, PDF reports, online dashboards, etc: You will be working with a range of formats to deliver bespoke client products, which will require high-quality analytic and editorial skills. You will also support senior consultants in preparing and delivering client presentations.

Supporting client engagement and business development: You will support senior members of the team on scoping projects with clients, preparing proposals and delivering the project on time and to budget. You will also support senior consultants and Sales representatives in identifying new opportunities for business development and client engagement. This may include attendance at conferences or industry events, desk-based research or interrogation of our CRM system.

Cross-team engagement: Various projects will require you to work with different teams at Verisk Maplecroft and other Verisk businesses. You will work with subject-matter experts to incorporate their analysis into client project deliverables and develop presentations/briefings to meet client requirements.

Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will have previous consulting or industry experience, especially within financial services, extractives or consumer and retail. Knowledge of one or more of the broad fields of above ground risk, sustainability / ESG, political research and analysis, and risk management within a business context are highly desirable, as is attention to detail.
