Job Overview

Development of probabilistic flood hazard models for different countries

Roles and Responsibilities

(i)            Manage the collection and analysis of hydrological data using automation, to integrate the high quality data into the modeling process

(ii)           Working with various modules of the flood hazard models.

 

Qualifications

Skills Set Required (Mandatory)

Education Qualification:

Master’s in Water Resources Engineering in Hydrology / Hydraulics or related fieldTotal Experience: 0-2 years

Must-Have skills:

(i)                  Good fundamentals in catchment hydrology and open channel flow

(ii)                Experience in working the existing hydrologic and hydraulic models, e.g. HEC series models

(iii)               Implement hydrologic and hydraulic models over a wide range of spatial scales

(iv)               Experience in working with GIS applications preferably ARCGIS

(v)                Beginner level skills in R statistical language or MATLAB

(vi)               Proficiency with Windows operating systems, other standard Windows applications

(vii)             Good communication and presentation skills

Desirable Skill Set Required (Add-on)

(i)                  Basic knowledge of probability theory and statistics

(ii)                Has experience/ knowledge of flood inundation modelling approaches
