Job Description

This Intern will be part of our Insurance Services Office (ISO) business unit. The intern will be get hands on experience managing a P&L and supporting the product areas including supporting the financial operations process ensuring we are compliant with rules and regulations

  • Assist with Commercial Lines quarterly forecast liaising with Product owners to accurately forecast revenue and expenses for the remainder of the fiscal year. 
  • Assist with crafting variance explanations for monthly variance reports detailing the root causes of any deviations from prior year, budget, and forecast.
  • Participate in management meeting with product owners discussing revenue and expense
  • Validate all existing survey codes to ensure active prices are consistent with contractual agreements.
  • Construct database of all active survey agreements, mapping agreements to product codes, layering in details regarding volumes, annual price increases, and schedule of annual increases.
  • CL Customer Database Project- Map all existing bill to’s to company names. Completion of this project will allow for dashboards to be created for all CL products with accurate customer level detail to show CL Management. the total aggregated spend for a customer.
  • Document all existing operational processes, allows for ease of cross functionality of the team and expedited training and reference.
  • Update Actual expense model spreadsheet and distribute to the team showing each CL cost center by major expense category during close process.

Qualifications

  • Completion of sophomore or Junior year of college (2021 or 2022 grad)
  • Working toward BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, IS -- MBA a plus
  • Strong MS excel skills
  • Experience manipulating data with pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Experience with excel graphing and charting
  •  Experience crafting variance explanations
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Experience with operational process, compliance, documentation and audit
  • Experience with sales contracts, and different billing platforms a positive but not required.
