Job Description

Our 11-week program combines real work experience with professional development workshops, volunteer events, and opportunities to network and socialize with our current team and other interns. This intern will be part of our Insurance Services Office (ISO) Claims Partners business unit. You'll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems, lead others, and be an owner every day as you. During this time, you will work closely with experienced software engineers, receiving mentorship and guidance, and contributing to both our complex platform as well as to our collaborative, inclusive culture. You’ll get to work with cutting edge technologies such as Typescript, Node.js, Angular 7 and AWS.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Work with front end code (user-facing) as well as back end code (databases, server, etc.).
  • Work alongside the team on real code that is being used daily.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to complete an intern project.
  • Gain on-the-job work experience aligned with your career objectives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business goals.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle from feature inception and design to test design and continuous code improvement.
  • Actively participate in a high-performance team including pair programming with the latest JavaScript technologies and code reviews with senior developers.
  • You will deploy and support code in different environments
  • Optimize application for speed and scalability
  • Helping prioritize and story point development tasks
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Work on integrations with third party APIs and services

Qualifications

  • A Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
