This intern is expected to work 40 hours/ week beginning January 2020 (the internship is expected to last 4-6 months). The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or someone eligible for a co-op through their school. This is a paid internship.

Verisk is seeking a software engineer intern to join its Weather Solutions division in Lexington, MA. This small growing team is responsible for developing and maintaining products and services that aid clients in the insurance, restoration, and related industries in effectively responding to natural catastrophe events. The candidate will interact closely with software engineers, scientists, product managers, and other product developers.

• A recent grad or student eligible for a co-op: must be available 40 hours/ week beginning January 2020
• Possesses excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to engage in a team of cross functional engineers
• Pursuing a bachelors degree in math, computer science, engineering, or physical science (physics, atmospheric science, earth science, meteorology, etc.)
• Experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Scripting: Python, PHP, or JavaScript / node.js
• Low-level Development: C, C++, or FORTRAN
• Experience with Linux / UNIX / shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud-based environments, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), and databases (MySQL or PostgresSQL) a plus; not required
