Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Account Executive to join our Chemicals Sales team. You will be located in our Edinburgh Office but work with a global team of chemicals sales experts. This role requires a highly motivated individual who thrives on the challenges and satisfaction of winning and is determined to grow the business and advance their career!

Role Purpose 

Wood Mackenzie are a knowledge business. Intellectual capital is our main asset and as such every individual employee’s engagement, development and potential is key to our success. The Chemicals business sales team is responsible for bringing new clients to Wood Mackenzie by identifying and targeting high potential sectors for existing solutions. The team has additional responsibility in supporting the sales growth of our Chemicals research.

To be successful in this role you will need to be motivated by targets and have the ability to work autonomously. You will manage a wide variety of Chemical clients to retain, up-sell and cross-sell Woodmac Chemical services. Your challenge will be to increase subscriptions while reducing transactional sales. You will also contribute to the growth of the Chemicals business by identifying opportunities to upsell and cross sell higher value solutions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage clients who have bought or subscribed to Chemical Services.
  • Ensure retention of subscriptions and upsell one-off purchases to subscription.
  • Identify opportunities to sell higher value solutions; and
  • Work with the Manager of the Local and Tail Chemicals team to plan and execute a sales plan to improve value.
  • Handle inbound leads from lead management for a full scope.
  • Prepare appropriate and scalable sales material.
  • Provide appropriate online demonstrations of services.
  • Work with Chemical experts for support, lead generation and improving opportunity value.
  • Manage sales pipeline effectively, recording real-time updates on opportunities and providing effective forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Experience using a CRM and sales systems such as Salesforce
  • Some understanding of Chemical markets and an interest in learning more about the Chemicals sector
  • Experience of inside sales environments and telephone-based roles would be desirable
  • Self-motivated, energetic, proactive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision on own initiative
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Customer focused and results oriented
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work within a team with sales managers and lead managers
