Job Description

Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) is actively seeking an mid-level devOps engineer to support our Space Weather R&D team in Albuquerque, NM

As a member of the data center support team you will be the primary interface between the software development team and the data center, providing the infrastructure tools for facilitating all aspects of the software development life-cycle.

The work will be performed at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Kirtland Air Force Base.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

-          providing systems support for developer tools

-          configuring and maintaining continuous integration

-          developing scripts and automated tests

-          deployment on standard server architectures, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure

Qualifications

The potential candidate will possess the following qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.

·         4+ years of proven experience with Linux Administration, LAMP stack, Type 1 and Type 2 Hypervisors, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.

·         3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CLI, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDb

·         Deep knowledge of multiple monitoring tools and how to mine them for advanced data

·         Proficient in: Bash, Chef, YAML, Python, XML, JSON, Web concepts such as REST APIs and SPA, HTTP Get and Post

·         Demonstrated mastery of Development tools and methodologies, such as Firewall concepts, network connectivity, XML config files, Rest API calls, HTTP Headers and Response Codes

·         Deep experience and knowledge with Continuous Integration/Deployment Technologies: GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, GIT, Maven, Docker.

·         Must have passion for technology and focused on automation.

·         DoD IT Level II 8570 compliant (within 60 days) and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
