Job Description

Verisk is seeking an Executive level Talent Strategist to partner with the President of our Verisk Financial business. Verisk Financial is one of the original innovators in lending, credit, fraud, and spend analytics.  The company integrates one of the industry’s largest sets of data to help banks, financial regulators, and media companies grow their businesses.

The VP, Talent Strategy & Culture will be a talent and organizational effectiveness subject matter expert with the ability to provide HR thought leadership and direction for global employees across the US, EMEA, and Asia.

We are looking for someone with first-class business partnering and stakeholder management skills. This role will require someone with vision and excellent leadership skills who can design and implement strategy at the highest level while coaching and mentoring an HR team. The strategic focus of this role will be on organizational design, talent, and change management.

This position is based in our White Plains, NY office, conveniently located a short walk from the Metro-North station.

We are looking to have our new VP, Talent Strategy & Culture:

  • Drive the strategy and delivery of organization effectiveness (planning, development, and design), change management (actively communicating), and talent programs  
  • Lead talent review discussions; provide strategic HR insight into business unit realignments, workforce planning, succession planning, talent assessment, talent development, and leadership pipelines
  • Advise senior team on the design and implementation of organizational solutions against priority needs, and coach and counsel business unit executives on issues pertinent to leadership, organizational effectiveness and change management
  • Support the business in making strategic and operational decisions, reflecting an understanding of broader cross functional implications and the imperative for sustained, profitable growth
  • Serves as the domain expert for organization and talent; provides subject matter expert recommendations and solutions to improve productivity, retention and attraction of employees based on external and internal factors, best practices and innovative solutions
  • Lead, develop, coach, and manage the HR team
  • Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Develop strategic partnerships with the legal and financial teams to be able to analyze metrics and data as it applies to workforce planning, talent management, and organizational design
  • Compensation modeling for various scenarios based on innovative and creative solutions to hiring and managing talent

Qualifications

We are looking for our candidate to have the following skills, experience, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of Organizational Development/Design, Change Management, and Talent Strategy experience
  • Proven mastery and expertise in applying organization capability design, change, and leadership frameworks and assessments
  • Ability to analyze the market as it relates to industry patterns in compensation and driving strategic programs to align with future trends
  • Emotional and social intelligence
  • Excellent collaborator
  • Strong executive coaching skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and partnering skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change throughout the organization
  • Experience leading, developing, coaching and mentoring a team of HR generalists
  • Deep knowledge and functional experience within talent management disciplines: performance management, succession planning, talent planning, competency development, compensation, employee relations, and talent analytics
  • Strategic thinker, with demonstrated experience translating strategic goals and concepts into action plans and implementing initiatives at an operational level
  • Recent experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Data Analytics industries is highly desirable
  • Superior oral and written communication skills. Ability to adjust communication style based on the audience
  • Strong demonstration of analytical skills and ability to prepare executive-ready materials, including mastery of PowerPoint and Excel
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential strongly preferred
