Job Description


As a member of AIR’s Consulting Services team, you will provide risk and loss estimation analyses and consulting services to our clients using AIR’s software technology. Use your analytical, problem solving, and communication skills to comb through vast amounts of information and data, to extract the relevant information needed for performing the loss analysis. You will work closely with a Manager on the Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) team as well as external-facing clients (investment managers, catastrophe modelers, insurance/reinsurance underwriters, among others).

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):   

·        Perform sophisticated risk analyses using AIR’s cutting-edge technology for ILS clients in the global business of catastrophe risk management and portfolio analytics

·        Work with a high-powered team of professionals to understand and enhance our risk-modeling techniques, and find new ways to add value for our clients

·        Review the transaction documents for catastrophe bonds and take a lead on developing Remodeling Service files for AIR’s insurance-linked security investor clients

·        Assist clients in understanding the exposure and loss information contained within the Remodeling Service files, and use of AIR software 

·        Take a leading role in building AIR's Catastrophe Bond Database providing ILS investor clients with AIR's most up-to-date view of the risk for all publicly traded catastrophe bonds in the market (approximately USD 30 billion)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

·        Ability to pick up new and complex concepts

·        Experience manipulating large data sets using MS SQL Server or MS Excel

·        Proactive problem-solving skills and results-orientation required 

·        Knowledge of statistics

·        Consulting experience a plus

·        Effectively communicate with team members

Requirements: 

·        1 + years of undergraduate coursework in a quantitative field of study such as applied math, statistics, actuarial science, or engineering
