About the Role

As an Internet Application Developer on the XactAnalysis team, you are a full stack developer tasked with designing and building new features to streamline customer workflows and make life easier for the end user.  You use technologies like Vue, ES6, jQuery, Java, Spring, SQL, Elasticsearch, Webpack, Yarn, Git, Maven, IntelliJ, etc. to build and maintain a large, industry-leading web application for a company that is growing and sees major success every year.  You work in a highly collaborative, close-knit agile team, planning, designing, and implementing to ensure that each feature in your sprint is completed to specifications, on time, and with excellent quality.  Your input and thoughts are valued on design, architecture, process and planning.  You refactor legacy portions of the application to make them more secure and maintainable.  You dig into the code to answer questions about functionality and resolve customer issues.  You are challenged to be innovative, able to drive projects to completion, a good communicator, a team builder, a problem solver, and adoptive of new technologies and processes, as well as able to understand and maintain legacy code and technology.  You can expect to have fun with your coworkers in team sponsored events like BBQs, games, movies, and outdoor activities.  You operate in a relaxed, but driven, work environment that allows you to balance your work and personal life.  This position is in the Lehi, UT office.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

·         Design and build new features into the application that span the full stack of web application development, while ensuring security, quality, and maintainability

·         Keep up with the latest technologies, design patterns, and processes to help make a product that is perpetually relevant, adaptive, easy to use, and maintainable

·         Refactor legacy code to bring it up to architectural and design standards, without altering existing functionality

·         Review designs for feasibility, to provide cost estimates, and to suggest alternatives and improvements

·         Fix bugs, resolve issues, and answer questions about application functionality and the underlying complexities

·         Write unit and other automated tests, perform developer testing, and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintain the contract of the application

·         Take an active part in various scrum meetings throughout the agile process

·         Participate in fun team building activities and team sponsored lunches

 

QUALIFICATIONS

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

Required

·         Bachelor’s Degree in computer science / software engineering or equivalent work experience

·         Experience building full stack, enterprise Java web applications using at least this minimum set of technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and SQL

·         Team-player mindset with strong problem solving and communication skills

·         Ability to create simple, well-designed solutions to complex software problems

·         Dedication to excellence and championship work ethic

·         Deep understanding of software development best practices, application security, and quality assurance

Preferred

·         Experience with agile development methodologies

·         Knowledge of additional technologies like: Vue, Vuex, Jest, Vue Test Utils, ES6, jQuery, Elasticsearch, Mongo, Spring, JUnit, Maven, Git, Webpack, Yarn, Apache Tomcat, and Oracle

·         Familiar with multi-layered software architecture (Controller, Service, Domain, Persistence)
