Team Profile

The Data and System Operations team is responsible for service management, analyst support, and quality assurance of Wood Mackenzie's content and data delivery within the Product organization. It provides operational governance over Product systems for content writing and publishing as well as data delivery on products.

 

Role Purpose 

  • To provide support on the operation of the systems and processes used to deliver content to clients or internal stakeholders, working with others to provide a global service
  • To document issues with the supported systems and processes, and assist with their resolution
  • To communicate the key elements of systems and processes to internal stakeholders effectively
  • To develop an understanding of the implications of systems and processes for our clients' interests, within a credible, wider corporate view

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Provides first line business support on the centrally maintained data and processes, meeting agreed SLAs
  • Assists with the definition and User Acceptance Testing of enhancements to systems and processes
  • Participates in ad hoc learning provision to the business as required
  • Maintains key data on behalf of the business
  • Performs quality assurance work which benefits internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops process excellence and organisational skills, and knowledge of the organisation's products and services, by working closely with more experienced colleagues

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Effective interpersonal and listening skills, telephone etiquette, superior oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Candidates should possess excellent organisational, problem-solving and follow-up skills, and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to make a real contribution.
  • Proficient in managing user and process documentation.
  • Desirable – Understanding of ITIL processes (e.g. incident and change management).
  • Desirable - Knowledge of automation; scripting languages/techniques (i.e. Python) and/or RPA. Technical skills can be acquired on the job, the really important element is a mindset of automating repetitive tasks rather than just approaching them manually every time.
