Job Description

The Internal Communications Manager is a collaborative partner who supports the strategy and execution of internal messaging that informs, engages, and inspires our colleagues and culture. The role establishes collaborative relationships across cross-business unit leadership teams and serves as key contributor for written communications.

In This Role, You Will

  • Be a partner to the Verisk Financial (VF) President to create and communicate consistent and continuous messaging around VF Vision, strategy, progress against our goals and our culture and People
  • Be a partner to the VF Leadership team and co-create unique and cohesive Verisk Financial messaging from the leadership team both collectively, and individually.
  • Work with executive and business leaders to create a content strategy, messaging architecture, and messaging campaigns for employees
  • Develop strategy and internal communications campaigns across digital and analog channels to support strategic goals
  • Manage and expand our intranet, deliver innovative communications campaigns, and measure effectiveness
  • Create innovative employee communications and activities that have a direct impact on employee alignment and engagement
  • Clearly articulate organizational changes and updates
  • Write employee articles/newsletters that are engaging and informative
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior VP of Marketing on all internal communications ensuring the maintenance of tone and voice and brand compliance
  • Develop and manage an internal communications calendar 
  • Assist with the messaging and content for town hall presentations
  • Assist with external communications as needed

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in internal communications roles, developing and managing compelling, innovative and engaging content and employee communications campaigns
  • Solid understanding of communication strategies for global and local audiences
  • Experience creating a communications channel strategy including social media, videos, corporate intranets, email, chat, physical space, and community events
  • Outstanding editing and curation skills. You bring a strong editorial voice
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to create emotional connections. You are a great storyteller.
  • Creativity; the ability to excite and create an emotional connection with our audiences
  • Persuasive; able to remain transparent yet understand the goal of the communication
  • Strategic thinking; invent an innovative content strategy to create alignment, clarity, and energy
  • Ability to adapt and create multiple voices while understanding the audience
  • Talent for articulating complex topics in a compelling way through a variety of media and channels
  • Self-starter who can deliver amazing results with minimal direction. Strong organization, time management, and project management skills
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s degree
