Research Career Opportunities – Research Team

Wood Mackenzie Research is transforming our business and looking for new talented WoodMackers from a range of backgrounds and career stages to join our 500+ sized Research division.

Whether you are starting out in your career, a well-established expert or looking for a career change, we would love to hear from you. 

We have three job families you may wish to join;

1.     Management & Leadership

2.     Industry / Commodity subject matter expert

3.     Data and / or Modelling subject matter expert

Our Research teams deliver commercial intelligence for the natural resources sector, empowering clients to make better strategic decisions, by arming them with objective analysis and advice on assets, companies and markets.

Our dedicated oil, gas, energy transition, power, chemicals, metals and mining sector teams are located around the world, and deliver data, subscription content and thought leadership to our clients. This is all based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets, companies and economic indicators such as market supply, demand and price trends.

At every stage, we apply a unique and rigorous analytical approach to provide objective analysis and advice that is valued by industries across the world. As a result, we can count the world’s key energy institutions and governments among our most loyal clients. Industry / Content

(Depending on experience, capabilities, specific role responsibilities and scope you may be appointed as a Research Associate, Research Analyst, Senior Research Analyst, Principal Analyst, Vice-President)

  • You are the developing or established industry or commodity subject matter expert
  • Agenda-setting thought leadership
  • Efficient product content updates
  • Leveraging and combining data sets to provide compelling Short Term and Long-Term coverage
  • Integrated analysis and scenarios
  • Content-led client engagement and supporting sales

Data / Modelling

(Depending on experience, capabilities, specific role responsibilities and scope you may be appointed as a Data Assistant, Data Associate, Data Analyst / Engineer, Senior Data Analyst/ Engineer, Principal Data Analyst/ Engineer, Director)

  • Extracting, sourcing, transforming and cleansing data for a commodity sector group (oil, gas, renewables, chemicals, metals and mining)
  • Building and using tools to query, collate, analyze, integrate, transform, visualize data
  • Model specification, development and enhancement
  • Data innovation and science
