Job Description

We are looking for a Data Associate and to join our Upstream team in Edinburgh.  The Upstream team is responsible for upstream oil & gas data that is held in our data platform.    This is a great early career position for good grasp of the fundamentals of data management.

 

About you and how you can excel in this role

You understand the value of data for business decision-making and want to work in a leading research, data analytics and consultancy business. You have a good grasp of databases such as NoSQL or SQL Server and can make good use of data visualisation tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau or GIS. You have experience in using Python. You may have knowledge and experience working in the natural resources industry but this is not essential. It's your data skills we need.

You are hardworking and inquisitive, known for your attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. You thrive working with others across different teams as well as independently to get things done.

Your real passion is data, problem-solving and customer service. You are a self-starter looking to grow and develop existing technical experience in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment.

 

About the role

This is a great opportunity to apply your understanding of data gathering, collation and formatting to make a difference. In this role, you will also quickly become knowledgeable of the client requirements and industry data you are working with.

Working in a team of data experts, you will efficiently maintain business processes to produce high-quality results. You will also create and maintain the documentation of data processes, databases, data tools and models, always striving to deliver improvements. 

This is a role in which you will help us achieve our business goals to deliver secure, compliant data of the highest integrity to our clients.
