Job Description

The Enterprise Data Management team (EDM) in Verisk Financial provides end-to-end data management solutions and services to clients in the Financial Services industry.  As part of this service, we offer Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting solutions covering multiple business critical domains including risk, finance, marketing, fraud, compliance, profitability, customer information, operations etc. The position will lead the work to design new solutions and enhance existing EDM reporting solutions and products with use of existing and new BI systems and/or software, lead and implement BI works steams, and use industry wide knowledge to deliver business value. 

Reporting Lead – Vice President in the EDM team will:

  • Develop and strategize enterprise wide data analysis and reporting solutions
  • Direct, organize, and lead reporting workstream projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems
  • Provide design leadership for the development of business intelligence and reporting solutions
  • Work on medium to highly complex, cross functional and enterprise IT and business intelligence solutions
  • Work as a Technical lead for all banking products and its reporting requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in solution planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of reporting solutions
  • Evaluates customers’ needs in order to provide appropriate solutions aligning with latest market trends
  • Interprets business requirements and determines optimum reporting solutions to meet needs
  • Conducts analyses of functional business processes and functional requirements and participates in the development of business cases in the support of new projects
  • Identifies and provides input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems
  • Create client material that presents business solutions that provide value and directly aligns to objectives
  • Coordinate with Client Delivery and other practice leads to successfully delivery the work stream

The Reporting Lead – Vice President is responsible for the development or coordination of the following deliverables:

Business Requirements & Analysis

  • Works with internal and external customers and IT partners to develop and analyze business intelligence needs
  • Provides input to business requirements for the design of solutions
  • Design Enterprise wide views and custom reports to meet clients’ needs
  • Perform analysis for wide range of request using data in different formats and platforms
  • Researches business problems and creates models that help analyze these business problems

Development and Delivery Competencies

  • Lead and provides directions on planning, designing and execution of reporting work stream projects
  • Communicates with client on business requirements and translates into BRD
  • Work with onshore/offshore development team to deliver the reporting solution
  • Review, delivery and support internal and external testing efforts

Research/Evaluation Competencies

  • Researches tools, frameworks and mechanisms for BI reporting products and solution
  • Approves selection of tools, frameworks and mechanisms for data analytics and reporting
  • Stays abreast of BI products/tools and of business strategies and direction
  • Aligns BI technologies with strategic initiatives
  • Participates in vendor evaluations

Technology Competencies

  • Understand new and appropriate reporting technologies like Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Cognos or equivalent
  • Develop methods and techniques for reporting technologies
  • Advanced data visualization, and interactive data analysis
  • Implement standards and best-practices

 

     

    Qualifications

    Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Computer Science or Information Systems or related disciplines
    • Expertise in reporting technologies like Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Cognos or equivalent
    • 8 or more years of Reporting/Business Intelligence experience in Financial Services

    Skills:

    • Experience in leading and designing BI reporting products and solutions
    • In-depth knowledge of the industry and multiple business functional areas like credit cards, retail banking products and commercial cards (preferred)
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Communications, both verbal (e.g.:  presentations, seminars, etc.), and written (e.g.:  reports, articles, etc.)
    • Ability to contribute both independently, and as a team leader
    • Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Communication of technical solutions and designs to non-technical clients
