Head of LNG & Assets

We are looking for a Research Director to lead our Global LNG & Assets team within our Global Gas and LNG practice. (Global locations will be considered in Houston, London, Edinburgh, or Singapore). Our dedicated LNG team is located around the world, and delivers research and consulting based on our assessment and valuation of LNG assets, and on understanding the strategy and LNG positions of major players in the LNG business.

The LNG, Assets and Corporate team delivers world class Research, Data, Insight and Analysis including detailed assets analysis, macro industry trends, project and market events and corporate insights.

The Gas & LNG research practice at Wood Mackenzie leverages unique, proprietary information and modelling to serve clients, and together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors. About you and how you can excel in this role

You are an experienced leader, having developed and led a high performing team within the energy industry. You are passionate about the Global Gas and LNG business and the rapidly changing energy market and have a track record in leadership and excellence.  

You have either worked within a data, analytics or consulting business covering LNG or have been directly involved in a commercial LNG related role with an industry participant. You have deep industry knowledge and leadership skills to help develop and lead a team of talented analysts.

Your commercial and industry knowledge coupled with your people skills will enable you define our ambition for LNG offerings which help solve our clients questions embedded with their workflows.

You can easily identify and size commercial opportunities, as well implement a strategy to increase revenue and market share effectively.

You possess sound commercial acumen and have contributed to strategic development within your area, particularly leading through change and business transformation.

About the role


You will lead a team of analysts and subject matter experts producing world-class commercial data, analytics and corporate insight. Specifically, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of research and the development of the Asset and corporate analysis in LNG. Your focus will be to transform the business as we deliver on our data analytics vision. You will foster an open, innovative and dynamic team environment where unconventional thinking is encouraged.


You will be able to prioritise what matters to clients and your team. Given your engagement with your network of senior-level clients and contacts, you will understand their business and priorities and translate that into valuable analysis and data. Internally, you will ensure team members improve workflow efficiency and the timeliness and quality of deliverables. You will also have the opportunity lead wider projects and new initiatives.


You will work collaboratively as part of the Global Gas and LNG leadership teams, to develop and implement a strategy identifying and capitalising on commercial opportunities.


You will also work with client management and consulting to generate new research, sales and consulting opportunities.
