Job Description

Role Purpose

As a key member of our Chemicals Consulting team, you will be responsible for managing commercial and strategic consultancy projects in the chemicals industry.  The position requires the ability to apply industry knowledge and experience to a broad range of consulting projects and client situations.

The successful candidate will proactively drive the growth of our Chemicals practice, leveraging deep relationships across the industry to understand clients' challenges and needs and taking a key role in the development of new consulting offerings.

The role is high-profile both internally and externally and will directly contribute to the double-digit growth of our chemicals practice.

The successful candidate can expect moderate travel, both regional and global.

Business Development

  • Proactively maintaining a high level of client interaction across the region
  • Developing strong relationships and repeatable, profitable consulting business
  • Promoting best practice in business development across the organisation
  • Scoping and writing pitches, ensuring quality and appropriate pricing

Project Direction

  • Assuming overall responsibility for project success working with the team and clients to ensure high quality, insightful results achieving project objectives
  • Providing functional guidance and content expertise while fostering the individual development of team members
  • Improving operational processes for the life cycle of consulting assignments and ensuring processes are embedded across team members
  • Identifying and pitching follow-up and resale opportunities
  • Working closely with the Sales and Account Management teams

Thought Leadership

  • Keeping abreast of industry developments and generating innovative ideas and approaches to industry issues
  • Engaging with and developing a senior-level client network
  • Building and maintaining an internal network across Consulting, Research and Sales and Account Management
  • Working with colleagues in our other sector consulting teams to ensure good coordination across the value chain for our clients

 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field and (master’s/diploma/PhD) or MBA preferred
  • Significant previous experience, at least 10-12 years in a senior chemicals-focused strategy consulting role or a senior strategic planning, business development, or commercial role within the petrochemical/polymers industry
  • Expert industry knowledge of chemicals markets, operations, business models and strategies 
  • Track record and experience in directing, managing and executing consulting engagements and driving industry and/or consulting business development
  • Experience in Latin America and Spanish language skills are a plus
