Job Description

The Project Accountant will provide support to the Finance team with the duties detailed below.

  • Sets up and maintain project and budget in accounting system
  • Performs accounts receivable invoice billing and collection
  • Performs project costing and spending analysis, which includes monitoring contract funding and spending status, provide interim f recast and projections for managers and funding agencies, subcontract costing and spending,
  • Analyzes and interprets RFPs/RFQs to make sure cost proposals are created in required formats with budget justifications, prepares certifications and other required contract documentation, edits the required materials, and verifies all documents to ensure compliance.
  • Processes and reconciles contract closeout and final invoices
  • Assists other financial assignments which include but are not limited to sales/use tax provision, income tax provision, R&D tax credit, billing schedules, new sales reporting, annual budget and reforecasting, 5-year strategic plan, etc.
  • Provides project revenue analysis and unbilled analysis and participates in monthly PSR review.
  • DCAA/other government agency and customer audits

Qualifications

  • Capable of managing numerous simultaneous projects.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to multi-task are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills and a team-player attitude. 
  • Strong analytical, presentation, communication and problem solving skills
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as directed by manager
