- Provide technical support to the CRS Flood Program involving engineering issues, planning issues, repetitive loss, training and marketing.
Coordinate CRS Training Program involving new staff, CRS Workshops @ EMI and Field Deployed classes, state floodplain management conferences, and local CRS Users Groups.
Coordinate and support updates to program support documents (CRS Coordinators Manual, Specialist Manual and other stand alone documents).
Provide technical support for quality control and program coordination functions including file reviews, technical activity reviews and support to field staff.
Provide coordination between CRS Flood Program and BCEGS Program. Work with BCEGS staff to provide data as needed (BCEGS classifications are part of the CRS Program.
- College Degree with a minimum 4-6 years work related experience in floodplain management, emergency management, evaluation of community building codes, and/or other planning fields related to floodplain and flood hazard management.
A working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking and good math skills.
A working knowledge and/or understanding of hydrology and hydraulics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), topographic mapping and map reading skills, surveying, planning, construction plan review, storm water regulation, etc.
Good Customer service skills, be self motivated, detail oriented and possess good organizational skills.
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certificate required (if not currently a CFM, must complete course of study and attain CFM certification within one year of employment). AICP a strong plus
