Geomni is a division of Verisk Analytics. We create software and other technologies related to aerial imagery, and provide the world's most comprehensive and cutting-edge imagery data acquisition, process, analytics, and distribution. • Experience with or willing to learn all aspects of database administration including, but not limited to, design, installation, upgrading, patching, tuning, backups and troubleshooting.
• Provide operational support for a variety of relational and non-relational database technologies with strict customer SLAs.
• Work with application development teams to deploy, test, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing database-driven applications.
• Monitor database environments and actively pursue any issues limiting their performance, scalability and availability.
• Effectively and professionally interact with various groups across Geomni™ and Verisk
• Be Included in an on-call rotation with other team members to provide 24/7/365 database support.
• Continually maintain a current set of job skills by participating in industry seminars and training.
• Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or 5+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with a variety of database technologies – most crucially PostgreSQL (with PostGIS) and DynamoDB
• Experience with Linux, AWS, shell scripting, and automation.
• Familiarity 24x7 enterprise database applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various technical and management audiences in both written and verbal mediums.
• Dedication to work and willingness to work hard under pressure
• Development experience is a plus.
