As a Flight Planning Analyst you will perform flight planning for imagery and lidar aerial mapping projects. Essential functions include:

• Translate project requirements into compliant flight plans
• Photogrammetric flight planning, re-flight planning, and Lidar flight planning
• Evaluate airspace restrictions and incorporate them into the flight plans
• Ensure that flight plans meet Geomni’s specifications for imagery and lidar acquisition
• Ensure flight plans are optimized to save flight times
• Flight planning in rugged terrain areas
• Communicate flight planning guidelines with the satellite offices
• Maintain a documentation of the flight planning procedures for Geomni’s sensor portfolio
• Aid on the day-to-day aerial mapping activities
   

• 4 Year Technical Degree
• Degree in Geospatial mapping or relevant fields preferred
• Relevant experience in flight planning is required
• Thorough understanding of coordinate systems for flight planning purposes
• Experience in working with flight planning software packages
• Experience in working with GIS software packages
• Strong computer/technical skills (MS Office Suite)
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills
• Understanding of aerial survey technologies
• Strong time management skills & ability to multi-task
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Knowledge in scripting is not required but considered useful for this position
