Job Description

Arium, part of AIR Worldwide Ltd is looking for a highly passionate, motivated Data Scientist/Quantitative Developer to join the team based in London. Arium provides new and cutting-edge modelling capabilities of complex commercial liability risks to the global insurance and reinsurance industry. You will have the responsibility of helping to develop key areas on our product roadmap. You will be comfortable interrogating and understanding complex sets of data and translating them into real business insights for our customers.

Proficiency in oral and written communication is essential, particularly the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Help to create & maintain risk models, from financial to products to infrastructure, to tackle complex commercial liability risks and forecast their impact for our insurance and reinsurance clients.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining, enhancing and extending complex data sets that drive the casualty risk model.
  • Prototyping of production code.
  • Active participation in the development of the product.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, previous experience with data analytics gained either in an academic or professional environment.
  • Strong programming experience with R, Python, Spark, advanced SQL
  • Good understanding of statistics and probability theory
  • Insurance or reinsurance background preferred

Education Requirements

Professional qualification and/or 2.1 degree, preferably in technical discipline
