Job Description

With a strong emphasis on analytics and client engagement, the successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging Argus’s strengths in understanding and then improving our client’s businesses across our Melbourne based clients.  Through in-depth analysis and understanding of a client’s business, you will identify opportunities for Argus products and services, to prepare and submit proposal recommendations to clients (both written and oral) to optimize the effectiveness of our client’s operations. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and lead complex analytical projects using advanced analytical and statistical methods in order to recommend, review and implement decisions that will have a positive impact on the P&L of each retail banking portfolio
  • Perform expert consulting support to all clients in the areas of Portfolio and Risk Management – focusing on areas of improvement across key performance metrics including identification of revenue driving enhancements and reduction of cost lines
  • Act as primary day-to-day client contact responsible for regular reporting and client communication
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff of analysts – developing advanced Banking experience across the team
  • Direct, plan and implement the approach and objectives for the team
  • Create structure and detailed work plans that can be executed from abstract and vague objectives
  • Manage project timelines for analysts and ensure all client materials meet expectations (from content to quality) and are delivered on time
  • Identification and follow-through of sales opportunities
  • Manage and lead complex sales proposals, recommending Argus Product and services designed to meet the needs and objectives of partner organisations
  • Act as an industry expert with deep domain knowledge of Argus products and services and their application to banking clients and other related organisations

 

 

Qualifications

Areas of Expertise and Qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree – advanced degree a plus

  • Business Development/sales management experience and expertise, ideally in the financial services sector

  • Experience in the credit card and financial services industry

  • Proven track record of managing consulting projects of teams of 2+ people

  • Quantitative background, 3+ years exp. preferably from a strategy consulting firm

  • Excellent problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills

  • In depth technical knowledge and ability to learn new technologies

  • Project management, scheduling and planning

  • Team player capable of working in a cross-functional environment

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Must be able to interact with senior management and collect requirements

  • Must be able to lead a team, use judgment and operate under ambiguity

  • Motivated, self-starter and a strong work ethic
