Job Description

G2 is looking for an experienced General Manager of New Business to lead a recently launched business in the brand protection space. This is a general manager role which entails a unique blend of strategic and operational responsibilities guiding product, marketing, sales, technology, and account management to drive product integration and market adoption.  As G2 focuses on growing into new markets, the role will expand to include other businesses and will be critical to the continued evolution of G2’s growing global business.  The ideal candidate should have strong experience building and driving new lines of business, either vertically or horizontally, and a background in technology-based information businesses with a keen focus on consistent and rapid results.  Additionally, having some level of experience working in the brand protection space is strongly preferred.     

The position requires a strategic thinker, exceptional stakeholder management and program leadership, strong execution skills, and commercial ingenuity.  As a member of the G2 leadership team, this position will be heavily involved in shaping the future of the business to create and drive new growth initiatives.  This individual will report directly to the COO. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of developing, initiating, and implementing strategies for new lines of business including the go-to-market strategy, product strategy, marketing strategy, and sales strategy
  • Drive key strategic new business initiatives and lead the operational efforts, working with relevant external strategic partners and internal stakeholders
  • Build strategic partnerships with other companies to leverage their platforms and white label solutions
  • Understand competitive position in the market and partner with product and sales to develop a strategy to address risks and opportunities
  • Lead business development efforts in partnership with Sales; identify and engage in sales opportunities with prospective clients
  • Determine, communicate, and achieve revenue goals   
  • Negotiate partner contracts to ensure a profitable, successful partnership
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to Implement and support new business initiatives across the organization

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience building and driving new lines of business with a proven track record of achieving growth goals
  • Experience in the brand protection space strongly preferred
  • Experience in technology-based information businesses is highly desired specifically in the financial services industry with preferred experience in merchant services, risk management, and/or SMBs
  • Experience working with external partners and white labeled solutions
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to synchronize across diverse stakeholders
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical & financial skills; strong business acumen
  • Ability to quickly develop strong relationships, embracing collaboration to influence peers and external partners
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Bias for action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • MBA preferred
