Job Description

This is a new position to support all our Finance divisions across the Verisk Financial Services. This role will report into our Chief Financial Officer based out of London. 

 

Scope of the role:

The Group Financial Consolidation Manager develops and oversees a variety of projects related to an organization’s revenue, from annual statements to investment tools. The Group Financial Consolidation Manager perform several duties during the project lifecycle, including data gathering and analysis, monitoring and reporting, tax compliance, and working with staff members in finance and sales departments to complete projects according to business needs and internal and external deadlines. This role requires an excellent balance of financial expertise and organization skills, as well as the ability to set schedules and drive team member performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees projects that relate directly to an organization’s revenue and expenses, cash flow, long-term investments, and reporting
  • Prepares analyses for projects across departments while identifying areas where cash flow and revenue can be improved
  • Coordinates across departments and motivate staff members to complete projects according to both internal and external deadlines is vital
  • Ensures that financial projects like balance sheets and shareholder reports are submitted according to laws and guidelines and helps support organizational performance by delivering a high level of project completion
  • Actively seeks methods to enhance overall efficiency and performance by managing the day-to-day work within the project lifecycle or identifying cost-saving opportunities at the organizational level
  • Identifies areas for improvement and develop solutions to prevent project delays and help a company meet its budgetary and cash flow goals
  • Ensures that each stage of the project is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards
  • Communicates with both team members and executives during the project lifecycle
  • Presents findings to stakeholders and effectively communicate between team members and departments
  • Works with department managers and team members to implement a project schedule to ensure that teams meet milestones throughout the project lifecycle
  • Negotiates with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
  • Supports strategic planning and M&A initiatives, including internal and external executive meetings
  • Supports on integration planning when new business added
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Relationship building / stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong technical background
  • Experience on financial consolidation systems preferred
  • Knowledge/experience of multinational group consolidation and accounts preparation
  • Proven track record of succeeding in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • Prior experience reporting to C-level. Strong intellect and technical background. International Business experience. Either CIMA qualified or interest in qualifying.
  • Ambitious & proactive with a desire to pursue a hugely successful career in the UK or overseas.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools with a strong focus on Excel
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to use data to produce coherent reports, commentary and analysis suitable for submission to the company board
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - talented at building relationships with all skills levels.
  • Technically astute with strong analytical and IT skills, with the ability to manipulate data into useful and meaningful management information
  • Uses initiative in performing tasks and prioritizing workloads based on the demands of the business
