Power and Renewables

Wood Mackenzie Power and Renewables provides integrated subscription, research and advisory services that help our clients with commercial and strategic decisions that arise from the rapid transformation of the electric power industry.

Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, and grid technologies, with our global power and fuels modelling and analysis capabilities, Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain, technology costs, policy and market issues, fundamentals-based outlooks, price forecasting, asset valuation, and commodity market impact issues.

Team Profile

This role will serve as part of the Americas power and renewables team, with a focus on power market fundamentals analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, and make a major contribution to building a power research practice from its foundation. Combining propriety data with market simulation tools and models we help our clients understand market supply, demand, costs and prices. Our analysis and insight provides a guide to the strategic issues confronting Mexico’s changing power sector, including the challenges of energy transition, asset valuation, operations forecasts, and commodity market factors.

Role Purpose 

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for Mexico power market analysis using advanced simulation models, forecasting changes in the power supply mix, market interactions, electricity prices and asset values. The ability to adapt models to meet client’s needs, and interpret model results into meaningful insight is crucial. The Senior Analyst must also have a strong knowledge of power market design and structure, and national energy policy/regulatory initiatives. The ability to articulate the key challenges facing Mexico’s power sector model is essential.

 

 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Minimum of Bachelor or similar degree in related field 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in similair role
