Job Description

You will join a specialized team focused on development of the AIR catastrophe modeling analytics underlying AIR products and services. In this position, you will contribute to AIR’s next generation modeling framework with emphasis on high performance and scalability. You will extend your knowledge of modern C++ and software design best practices contributing to a central component of a larger software suite. You will expand your skillset by adding knowledge of architecting and developing critical cloud-based applications. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to development of cloud-based analytical framework, algorithms, and tooling
  • Proactively contribute to software performance optimizations
  • Proactively contribute improvements to code quality, robustness, and development processes
  • Enhance functional capabilities of the existing system
  • Investigate and resolve customer inquiries and software defects

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in commercial-grade software development, specializing in backend business logic, frameworks, scalability, and performance aspects of the system
  • Minimum 3 years developing Windows/Linux applications using C++, C#, or Java
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Database platform knowledge (SQL/NoSQL databases)
  • Knowledge of code analysis and performance-tuning tools

Preferred Skills:

  • Parallel Computing experience (TPL, MPI, TBB, OpenMP)
  • Experience in development of serverless cloud applications
  • Knowledge of cloud design patterns
  • GPGPU Programming – OpenCL/CUDA
  • Background in math, high-performance distributed and parallel computing, game development
  • Familiarity with Python, R, Powershell

Education and Training:

  • BS or higher in CS preferred and 3 plus years of relevant experience
