Job Description

Verisk Analytics (VRSK) is seeking an experience Administrative Assistant to support our Law Department at our global corporate headquarters in Jersey City, NJ.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Performs highly responsible administrative tasks for the Law Department which include: record and maintain department's PTO records,  maintain and distribute department's supply stock, prepare check requisitions and process vendor invoices on Basware for department, keep track of all law firm and vendor expenses, schedule meetings and distribute.
  • Coordinates  the organization and maintenance of files and records for division.
    • Processes correspondence, including incoming and outgoing mail for Department, performs proof-reading and composes letters and memos as required.
    • Makes copies, sends faxes and distributes information as needed.
  • Receives visitors and screens phone calls

 

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years administrative experience with a major law firm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Basware, or similar system, preferred
  • Knowledge of Westlaw or Lexis preferred
  • Knowledge of business and office practices required.
  • Excellent communication / documentation skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and work independently
  • Detail oriented, meticulous and extremely diligent
  • Excellent client service, team work and diplomacy skills
  • Adaptable to a fast paced environment
