JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the daily processing of outgoing mail at the work location.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Place expedited orders into expedited envelopes for delivery.
  • Review primary sort for ongoing activity changes.
  • Complete mailroom audits for accuracy. 
  • Match multiple quantity orders and prepare for shipping. 
  • Ensure packages are labeled properly for delivery vendors and moves Gaylords using hand jack for pallets upon arrival of shipping carrier into trailer for outgoing delivery. 
  • Moves pallets upon arrival of FedEx or other shipping carrier into trailer using hand jack for pallets for outgoing delivery. 
  • Generate and submit mail reports and paperwork.
  • Work with management to identify and resolve delays in delivery issues and other duties as assigned. 

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS


Position constantly interacts with others from work unit, sharing data and/or information.
Communication is with other workers, plant manager, and shift supervisor.

Most communication is verbal, with the exception of written notes to other workers or supervisor.
Position is required to read: House letters, Reports, Plant procedures, Operations manuals and TQM materials.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Stooping; crouching; reaching; pushing; pulling; fingering; grasping; reading fine print.
  • Associate stands/walks for 8 hours a day.
  • Must wear company approved safety shoes and hearing protection.
  • Must be able to operate electric equipment to include but not limited to a pallet jack and forklift.

EXPERIENCE

0 - 2 years Credentials requirements: Forklift Training. (Required)

    Additional Information

    • Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 +Plus $1.25/hr. shift differential for 2nd shift
