Job Description
Position Summary: The Account Director is responsible for understanding and representing Digital products, services, and solutions to clients. As Account Director of Data Product Sales, you will be responsible for developing and driving the go-to-market sales strategy and net new sales of our data products and other data offerings (services, subscriptions, models as a service, etc.). The Account Director will pursue opportunities through organic growth, new business opportunities and through an effective partnership/sales strategy with the internal sales team and clients to sell data products and solutions to meet our client’s needs. The position requires product knowledge, an understanding of industry trends, and ability to develop strategic plans with a high level of initiative, planning, and foresight to maximize sales and revenue from existing clients as well as new clients and prospects. In the position, you will act as a subject matter expert, generate/close new business, and mentor less experienced sellers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing go-to-market sales strategies for Vericast’s data products
- Partner and collaborate with internal teams such as product, product marketing, etc. to develop current & new product sales strategies
- Continuously deliver client feedback to product and internal teams to inform data product investments and process.
- Establishing a strategic and sophisticated consultative process that engages new and existing clients regarding the promotion and marketing of our data products and services by:
- Building strong partnerships and sales strategies with existing and new clients through developing a deep understanding of their businesses and marketing/advertising initiatives
- Engage other Vericast product sales experts to propose optimum customer solutions.
- Drive conversations & Vericast solutions around 1st party and privacy strategies for clients
- Effectively communicate how best to promote our data products and services to best fit a client or prospective client's needs (Travel may be necessary)
- Align and implement annual strategic business plan for data monetization.
- Create and develop executable programs, materials, and processes that are driven by market and business insights
- Drive net new and reocurring revenue across our data product clients by:
- Prospecting new data clients and usage of our products
- Ensuring tactical and flawless implementation of products, services, and solutions;
- Staying current on industry/vertical trends, best practices, client relationship management and business development;
- Researching, tailoring, and teaching commercial insights to clients; and
- Remaining point of contact to ensure client’s concerns are addressed.
Qualifications
Education & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of Business, Marketing, or Communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience / Skills and Competencies:
- 9+ years in a quota carrying sales role; demonstrated consistent success over performance.
- 7+ year’s experience selling programmatic digital, data products, data services, and/or audience segments
- Extensive knowledge of the Digital MarTech Ecosystem and working in self-serve programmatic platforms.
- Knowledge and expertise in platforms such as Liveramp, Snowflake, etc.
- Success in driving new product growth and strategies.
- Expert using data and insights as a solution-selling tool.
- Requires conceptual thinking to understand issues and implications.
- Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Ability to educate and influence stakeholders/audiences resulting in closed/won business.
- Ability to handle more complex/strategic accounts; typically interacting with clients/prospects higher level executives/C-suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients while seeking new opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, with aptitude to learn systems.
- Experience with data partnerships a plus
- Demonstrates leadership qualities.
Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):
- Communication with clients and internal co-workers – all levels of management, business leadership, customers, suppliers and other internal/external entities as required
Decision Making Scope:
- Ability to make recommendations and bring out-of-box recommendations to clients and areas that support sales (ie: targeting, marketing and pricing)
- Requires broad conceptual judgment and ability to deal with complex factors
Other:
- Travel required. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Information
Base Salary: $140,000-$160,000
Position is eligible for a sales incentive/commission program.
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
