JOB SUMMARY
Provides maintenance expertise and leadership to support manufacturing operation in meeting production, safety, and cultural goals.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides high level equipment knowledge and technical skill to support operations. Leads and assists other employees in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in equipment and facility systems. Organizes and assigns activities/work orders in conjunction with other technicians and leaders. Manages projects including requisitioning parts/services and scheduling activities. Develops and maintains vendor relationships.
- Develops and generates preventive maintenance work orders, checks work order documentation, records/reviews appropriate equipment information concerning equipment repairs and performance, and closes work orders.
- Team Responsibilities: Trains and develops other Technicians and assists in skill evaluation. Work closely with OEM technical support. Requisitions supplies, parts, and equipment; organizes parts identified for repair. Informs operators, leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and communicates to other departments as necessary. Complies with safety programs, demonstrates a working knowledge of safety programs and can identify safety hazards. Attend meetings/respond to requests in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Technical degree or certifications in Mechanical/Electrical skills
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.
- Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Intermediate written and verbal communications skills. Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Service-oriented personality.
- Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating work schedule with call-in and overtime duties.
- Must learn to operate a boom lift and become forklift certified.
EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must have knowledge of Internet software, Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order Processing systems.
COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS
• Informs leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and communicates to other departments as necessary.
• Communicates with equipment operators to determine problems with equipment before breakdown and to determine if equipment adjustments or repairs are necessary.
• Communicates with equipment vendors and various suppliers including technical local and international support.
DECISION MAKING
• Often must make decisions in conjunction with department supervisors to shut down equipment, schedule repairs, request for service.
OTHER
• Functions as member of emergency response team providing equipment and utility shut down, sprinkler valve operation, and assistance to emergency personnel as required.

Additional Information
Hourly Pay Rate: $31.60
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
