Job Description

Job Title:   Maintenance Technician 2

Monday- Friday, Weekends required due to Business needs

Provides maintenance and repairs to production machinery, computer systems and facility. 

Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 1 as required

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Support:  Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Train production technicians in the proper set-up and copy troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices. 30%
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.) Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment. 30%

  • Preventative Maintenance: Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis.  Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner.   Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan.  These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets. 30%

  • Administrative:  Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory. Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory. Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspects their work. 5%

  • Housekeeping/Other: Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine and equipment clean-up, sweeping up after clean-up and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned 5%

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • Associate's Degree (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of related experience.

  • Electro-mechanical experience.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES:

  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: (• Powered Industrial Truck Certification)

  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance.

  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions. Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.

  • Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance. Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.

  • Computer literate: Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet software.  Ideal candidates will have experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order Processing systems.

  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.   Plans and organizes daily work flow.

  • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.  

  • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills

  • . Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to organize work, people and materials. Intermediate written and verbal communications skills. 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports. Intermediate math skills.  Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc. Service-oriented personality.

  • Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts. Ability to work a flexible work schedule with call-in and overtime duties.

  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred. Computer software experience.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS:

  • Informs leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and communicates to Plant personnel, leadership and other departments as necessary.
  • Communicates with equipment operators to determine problems with equipment before breakdown and to determine if equipment adjustments or repairs are necessary.
  • Communicates with outside vendors and various suppliers, service and maintenance providers.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing.

Other:

  • Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required.

 $24.50 Hourly. The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
