JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the daily operation high speed Gietz Foil/Embossing press. Ensure accuracy of foiled material coming from offset presses while maintaining cleanliness of the work area. Must be able to perform daily weekly & monthly maintenance. This person will also assist with other bindery operations such as cutting and collating as needed. 

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Reads and understands schedules, job tickets, and multi-part specifications.

•   Performs make ready by setting up foil, heat settings, and appropriate product dies.

•   Inspects foiled sheets.  Cleans dies.  Moves 60-pound boxes to pallets.  Adjusts heat and pressure as necessary.  Sets register.  Runs paper through machine.

•   Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment

•   Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace

•   Inventories foil and supplies. Loads and offload foil press.

•   Operates cutter.  Responsible for cutting and boxing all stocks as called for in specifications of each job.

•   Training: May assist in training others.

•   Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION

•   High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

* Position constantly interacts with others from work unit sharing data and/or information, and occasionally interacts with suppliers.
* Communication is with other workers, plant manager, superintendent, and shift supervisor.
* Most communication is verbal with the exception of written notes to other workers preparation of activity sheets and maintenance requests.
* Position is required to read House letters, Job tickets, Press manuals, Reports, Plant procedures, Operations manuals, TQM materials
