Job Description
We're seeking a highly creative AWS DevOps Engineer II to monitor, support, and enhance the AWS cloud infrastructure of our award-winning cross channel marketing suite. This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and IT stakeholders in an agile framework. Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to identify needs for infrastructure as well as building and deploying their applications
- Maintain various development/test/production AWS environments
- Build scalable testing infrastructure and CI/CD support for Application Lifecycle Management
- Manage release versions of a Machine Learning Execution platform
- Build various AWS cost and application performance alerts
- Build out infrastructure workflows to cater to internal Data Scientists for rapid prototyping
- Establish and maintain DevOps best practices documentation for the team
- Create and maintain scalable deployment pipelines along with test case automation
- Develop infrastructure-as-code for various application components using AWS Cloud formation or Terraform
- Infrastructure troubleshooting across various AWS environments
- Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and cloud security solutions
- Troubleshoot failed builds and deployments
- Perform AWS infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
- Take part in all scrum ceremonies
- Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer Associate preferred
Experience
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (Sagemaker, Step Function, VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
- 2+ years of experience in maintaining Machine Learning Workflows
- 2+ years of experience in developing infrastructure-as-code using AWS Cloud formation or Terraform
- 1+ year of experience with maintaining AWS Sagemaker environment and Machine Learning pipeline
- Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment techniques, approaches, and tools, including experience with some of the following tools: Gitlab, Code Deploy etc
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure provisioning (at least one of Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Application monitoring (ELK stack, New Relic, Datadog, etc.)
- Experience supporting production grade systems including Linux administration, deployment, high availability & durability, practical logging & monitoring, and cost optimization in a public cloud, preferably AWS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning Workflow Management
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced start-up like team
- Possesses a good understanding of the DevOps ‘marketplace’: Current vendors, their technologies and can articulate the key differences in their offerings
- Issue and bug tracking and wiki documentation (JIRA, Confluence)
- Software Delivery Lifecycle Process optimization
- Source code systems and branching strategies
- Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
- Communicate effectively
- Active listener
