Position Description for Windows 7 Migration and Support Technicians

$18/hr plus medical benefits

6 months

 

Explanation of the Need for the Position:

Our Client seeks several (3) temporary contractors to assist with the migration and support for of its end users to Windows 7.  Contractors are sought to execute imagining process, push software to workstations, configure workstations, set up workstations and provide next day service desk support.  Three technicians are sought to fulfill these roles.

Education/Experience • Prior technical experience migrating workstations from Windows XP to Windows 7 in a managed desktop environment • Minimum four years’ experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 7 • Familiarity with enterprise imaging and management tools (e.g. Active Directory and SCCM) • Ability to work rotating shifts and work with little or no direct supervision during early mornings or evenings hours • Ability to work well under pressure, facilitate solutions and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including an ability to deal with people at various technical various levels. • Excellent problem solving skills • At least one IT certification, MCDST, MCTS, MCP, MCSE or other certifications (such as A+, CCNA, HP) highly preferred

Job Duties The Windows 7 Migration and Support Technicians will be responsible for the following deliverables: •             Following procedures for imaging, configuring and installation software to workstations prior to migration •             Physically installing and setting up workstations •             Supporting and troubleshooting end user issues after the migration •             Effectively communicating any issues related to the migration to the project team in a timely manner
