The Operations Technologist will deliver on-site service, chemical treatment analysis, monitoring and operational support to existing customers for Veolia, and will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction whilst working to our strategic growth plan. They will be responsible for providing Legionella control services, maintaining compliance with ACOP L8, and building strong, lasting relationships with both internal and external customers.

What will I be doing?

• Deliver on-site service, chemical treatment analysis, monitoring and operational support to existing customers
• Provide Legionella control services and ensure compliance with ACOP L8
• Offer recommendations to customers for best working practices and operational efficiency
• Support Account Managers to manage accounts in line with budgets and attend client review meetings
• Initiate water treatment programs for new accounts and commission dosing/control installations
• Offer feedback on product performance and contribute to future product development
• Identify opportunities to quote for parts, consumables, plant upgrades, and refurbishment work
• Communicate progress, issues, or risks to line management and collaborate with appropriate commercial teams
• Observe and enforce company and client Health & Safety policies and personnel policies
• Ensure work is consistently accurate, timely and complete
• Calibrate personal & onsite equipment and generate calibration certificates as required
• Diagnose and rectify equipment issues independently or escalate as required
• Utilise CSM's digital data visualisation platform, InSight, to generate reports and manage trends
• Travel across UK at short notice for customer meetings
• Understand water sector and relevant Veolia technologies for your industry/region
• Stay informed on competitor strategies, products, and activities

What you will bring to the role:

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to guide, influence, and convince clients, colleagues, and external agencies
• Build strong working relationships and coordinate with internal teams to develop customised solutions
• Demonstrate passion for customer satisfaction and relationship development
• Results-oriented with a 'can do' attitude
• Attention to detail and technical competence

Essential:

• Preferred Chemistry/Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent scientific degree qualification
• Proven technical competence and excellent customer problem solving skills
• Work must be consistently accurate, timely and complete
• Very good communication skills are required with the ability to express information in a clear and concise manner
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Valid UK driving license
• Availability to travel within the assigned area, including overnight stops

Desirable:

• Google Suite
• Experience of working in a large corporate environment
• Experience in Water Industry
• Legionella training certification
