Purpose & Scope:
Responsible for construction liaison and commissioning of Evaporator and Crystallizer units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Commissioning and startup of custom-designed Evaporator and Crystallizer systems by ensuring process equipment and control systems perform per specifications
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sites
• Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers, assuring services and supplies met project specifications and performance requirements
• Perform engineering calculations for the performance validation and troubleshooting of equipment. Subjects of calculations include thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and material balances, electrical power consumption, process control, and mechanical design
• Perform startup and after-market services such as site inspection, equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and operator training
• Prepare technical engineering reports for system process validation tests, startups, and internal inspections
• Construction liaison between design engineering and construction during the commissioning of thermal systems
• Develop log sheets for data collection by plant operators to document and monitor equipment operation
• Develop and execute Commissioning Schedules and Performance Plans
• Develop and execute classroom and hands-on training regarding operation and maintenance of process equipment
• Participate in P&ID Reviews, Model Reviews, Engineering Design Meetings, and Safety in Design reviews to ensure accessibility, maintenance, and operation of process equipment
• Perform control system factory acceptance tests with Clients and client-designated representatives
• Travel in support of domestic and international trips; anticipated travel 60-70%
• Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within Veolia safety standards
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as water treatment chemistry calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of budgets, and monitoring Time & Material (T&M) contract costs
• Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Improve operations and validate the system process design
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possess basic chemistry knowledge (including water treatment) and communicate that information to others
• Detail-oriented
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong PC skills and familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
• Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines
• Ability to document technical information
• Ability to write procedures and manuals that conform to prescribed style and format
• Ability to effectively present information to functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in power plants, chemical process facilities, or wastewater treatment plants - preferred
• Knowledge of notations for structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, piping, welding specifics, and civil drawings - required
• Operating experience with water treatment equipment, including evaporators, crystallizers, reverse osmosis systems, microfiltration, clarification, and conventional filtration - required
• Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures. Confined space entry and Lock-Out/Tag-Out are required for inspections and process troubleshooting, so familiarity with the procedures is preferred

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with possible exposure to loud noise levels on site. The site assignments shall be in foreign countries and may involve accommodations at remote work camps. Many water treatment facilities are located outside, and work activities will be outdoors.

Compensation:
The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $77,471.00 - $91,294.00 USD
