Job Description
Position Purpose:
Responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks in the shipping and receiving of parts and material. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to move parts around for proper storage. Manage the flow of the inventory and keep the CMMS (Maximo) system up to date. Supports craft personnel with identifying and sourcing parts.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Works safely and wears appropriate PPE.
- Comply with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Loads and unloads material for deliveries and shipments.
- Constructs packaging/boxes/containers to prepare for shipment.
- Moves material within the facility using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet trucks, forklifts, etc. for proper storage.
- Operates and performs routine maintenance/inspections on packaging equipment and lift trucks.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Works within Maximo/VAMS CMMS system to review work orders and draft purchase orders as needed.
- Maintains accurate accounting of Inventory in Maximo/VAMS to be ready for monthly and annual audits.
- Works with craft personnel to identify material needed, and sources material from various vendors.
- Helps to plan work by providing updates on material availability and update work orders accordingly.
- Supports vendor coordination.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
- Experience with Maximo / CMMS system required.
- Experience sourcing material for jobs of various disciplines preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to work well in team environment.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Forklift Certification
