Job Description
Prime Objective:
Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities for water and wastewater treatment facilities. The Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Commissioning Engineer ensures all systems, equipment, and processes are installed, rigorously tested, and operational in accordance with design specifications, regulatory mandates, and industry standards, culminating in a successful handover to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation and process systems
Conduct system inspections, functional tests, and performance verification of treatment equipment
Oversee installation quality and ensure compliance with design specifications and standards
Review P&IDs, equipment specifications, and installation drawings
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process issues during commissioning phases
Verify proper operation of pumps, blowers, clarifiers, filters, disinfection systems, and PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS controls
Ensure integration of all plant systems and subsystems
Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and punch lists
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and permit requirements
Develop and maintain as-built documentation and O&M manuals
Coordinate with regulatory agencies for inspections and approvals
Work closely with contractors, vendors, designers, and operations staff
Provide technical guidance and training to operations personnel
Facilitate smooth transition from construction to operations
Participate in project meetings and provide status updates
Conduct FAT & SAT for the MCC, LCP & automation control panels etc
Review the HMI/SCADA/DCS screens in alignment with P&I D
Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures.

Site Supervisors / Site Technicians (Commissioning)
Main liaison:
Commissioning Manager
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics & Communication/ Instrumentation & Control / Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants.
Process troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel to project sites and if required to other countries also.
