Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician I performs maintenance services, installation or repairs in one or more skill areas such as plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Adheres to established preventive maintenance schedule.
- Performs routine maintenance duties, such as repairs, PM’s, shutdowns and the collection of trending information, for the Maintenance Supervisor or Project Manager.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude preferred, with the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.
- Six months to two years’ experience in a related position with ability to comprehend specifications, blueprints and manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing or orally (operational, process, safety and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools and shop tools such as drill press, band saw, bench grinder, and torque wrench preferred.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Experience using material handling equipment, pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.
- Must have ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System (software).
- Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently perform assigned duties and meet or exceed production and quality goals.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Must be able to participate in after-hours emergency call-outs.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen or criminal background check.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Job will require working outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 40-50/Lb. bags while loading material in tanks.
- May be exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
