Job Description

Veolia is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to work on water and wastewater treatment projects that deliver sustainable solutions for municipal and industrial clients. The successful candidate will manage complex infrastructure projects from initial design through commissioning, ensuring delivery of high-quality water treatment systems that protect public health and the environment.

This position is responsible for the detailed mechanical engineering scope of industrial  water and wastewater treatment system

The preference is for this role to work out of Trevose Office, PA but it is open to remote work in any other location in the US.

  • Design & Engineering: Review bid specifications, process designs, and perform detailed design, calculations, and equipment specifications for industrial water/wastewater treatment systems, including screens, pumps, blowers, mixers, tanks, flares, compressors, DAFs, heat exchangers, chemical pumps, boilers, CHP systems, and odor control systems.

  • Documentation & Drafting: Collaborate on drawing development (PFDs, P&IDs, tank drawings, piping drawings, equipment layouts), perform CAD drafting for process diagrams and technical drawings, and prepare equipment lists, specifications, and purchase requisitions.

  • Procurement & Quality Control: Evaluate supplier proposals for technical compliance, schedule, and budget, recommend optimal suppliers, and conduct vendor shop inspections (kickoff, interim, and final).

  • Construction & Commissioning: Perform site visits, provide technical support during construction, troubleshoot technical issues, develop and execute checkout/commissioning plans, and commission mechanical and electrical equipment prior to startup.

  • Project Management Support: Attend technical meetings, ensure engineering best practices, assist with project scheduling and execution planning, and develop resource forecasts for engineering activities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position in an engineering discipline.  Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil preferred.

  • 5+ years of work experience in a related field required.

  • Experience in AutoCAD software is required.  AutoCAD Inventor/Plant 3D or other 3D modeling, including piping beneficial.
