Job Description

 Summary:-

Seeking an experienced Senior Piping Design Engineer to lead piping design activities and manage technical teams in complex industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing comprehensive piping deliverables using advanced 3D modeling software while ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.The Key Responsibilities shall be  Develop /Review Equipment & Piping layouts, Piping Support designs, Isometrics, and Material Take-offs using Plant 3D, Aveva E3D, or Revit. Guide and supervise 3D Modelers in single-line pipe routing, equipment layout, and support detailing to meet project schedules. Apply knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping and B31.1 Power Piping Codes in design activities.• Participate in 3D model reviews from concept to completion, incorporating pipe flexibility concepts. Perform pipe support span calculations and conduct thorough 3D model reviews.• Coordinate complex projects with cross-functional teams including Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, and E&I Engineering across multiple regions. Lead PFD/PID reviews, equipment layout design, and 2D drawing extraction processes. Manage clash detection and resolution while overseeing Bill of Quantity preparation. Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and site-related technical issues. Must-Have Requirements

  • Able to draft Equipment/Foundation Layout using AutoCAD software
  • Able to prepare Skid 3D Model based on Basic Engineering documents  using 3D Modeling softwares like Solidworks, Plant 3D, Revit,Aveva E3D etc..
  • Able to understand & perform peer reviews Quality procedures, processes for skid deliverables. 
  • Able to perform PFD/PID Review, Equipment Layout/Skid Pipe Routing design, 2D drawings extraction and annotation of various deliverables like GAD,plumbs & spool drawings , accurate Bill of Quantity,Support spacing(Metallic & Non-Metallic lines), prepare clash report & resolve before model review- produce compliance report.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews from concept to completion inorder to ensure designers have provided enough flexibility in pipe routing.
  • Knowledge on A36: Carbon Structural Steel,A105: Carbon Steel Forgings, for Piping Applications, A106: Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service,A312: Seamless, Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe, A335: Seamless Ferritic Alloy Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service
  • Competent to lead a group of engineers as the Lead Skid Engineer, expertise to assist shop problem solving during manufacturing.
  •   Proficient  holistic approach for customer specification, schedule, budget and productivity, understand each is dependent on the other.

Good To Have Requirements

  • Able to create standard P&ID templates which include legend, blocks, attributes, linking to spreadsheets, and extraction of AutoCAD attributes.
  • Able to perform PFD/PID Review, Equipment Layout/Skid Pipe Routing design, 2D drawings extraction and annotation of various deliverables like GAD,plumbs & spool drawings based on Internal or Client specifications,accurate Bill of Quantity,Support spacing(Metallic & Non-Metallic lines), prepare clash report & resolve before model review- produce complaince report
  • Review Isometrics / 3D model to select correct pipe support type to align with the analysis.
  • Knowledge on A36: Carbon Structural Steel,A105: Carbon Steel Forgings, for Piping Applications, A106: Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service,A312: Seamless, Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe, A335: Seamless Ferritic Alloy Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service
  • Competent to attend on-site meetings as an analysis team representative, and has other customer facing interactions

Key Skills required

  • Software knowledge -AutoCAD, Solidworks or AutoDesk Plant or Revit or Aveva E3D.
  • Knowledge on ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code /B 31.1 Power Piping Code.

Experience Required

  • Maximum 8-15 years’ Experience of mechanical design in Water, Power,O&G or related Industry.

Qualifications

Diploma/Engineering Degree – Mechanical / Experience in Mechanical Engineering
