About the job
VWTS Logistics team is seeking a strong candidate for the day-to-day logistics operations, warehousing and
export/import activities.
The successful candidate will work directly with the NAM Logistics Team, Production Plants, Customer Fulfillment Solutions, PSI, along with the extended Global Supply Chain team.
This is a fast-paced job with many variables in which you will be constantly reviewing and working with senior
(internal/external) Logistics team. The position will be based in Oakville, ON.


Job Description

  • Arrange export and import of shipments by various multimodal transports (Air, Ocean, Road) to/from various overseas destinations and compliance with TDG, DOT, IATA, IMDG etc. regulations
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal teams, coordinate and expedite the flow of materials between departments, manufacturing plants and suppliers.
  • Create all required shipping documents and co-ordinate with third-party suppliers such as freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers to meet on-time delivery, timely customs release, optimizing freight costs while adhering to country specific compliance requirements.
  • Manage and execute international shipments of chemicals and equipment for VWTS global facilities and customers through U.S. import/export channels
  • Oversee US import operations, including preparation of documentation for return goods, troubleshooting of customs clearance issues, and arrangement of in-land deliveries for US in-bound shipments
  • Ensure compliance and segregation rules are followed for dangerous goods, enabling the proper booking and transportation of materials
  • Facilitate with International Trade Control (ITC) and Global Growth Organization (GGO)teams for classification of products (ECCN / HTS /Schedule B), ADD / CV reviews, USMCA / FTA documents, and country of origin (COO) verification
  • Provide cost estimates on request to internal and external end users for domestic and overseas shipments based upon use of appropriate carrier and modes of transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Ocean).
  • Responsible for compliance with Customs Acts and regulations (CBSA/CBP), submit export declarations (CERS/AES) through online software’s for commercial goods.
  • Maintain logistics, export/import compliance and reporting databases and support the accuracy of the databases on ongoing basis.
  • Run reports, interface with production plants, 3PL provider & carriers to meet the customer requested delivery date
  •  Identify and react to short lead time, rush and emergency orders to meet customer requirements
  • Co-ordinate with Project Manager, SPL and Buyer to ensure effective arrangement of logistics for domestic and international drop shipments from plants and warehouses across North America.
  • Arrange logistics and prepare documentation for the return of the shipping frames to EMEA
  • Create small parcel shipments and maintain accurate files of packing and shipping activities
  • Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain / Logistics from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of export & import logistics experience.
  • Prior working experience in import / export compliance (Eg: Tariff classification, Certificate of Origin,
  • Commercial Invoice etc.), third party logistics, carrier management and operations.
  • Knowledge of US and EU export regulations, foreign customs requirements, letters of credit, trade finance programs, free trade agreements and international logistics and shipping requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of SAP experience in Sales & Distribution and Planning Module
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and strong Microsoft & Google Suite expertise

● Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. 
The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual
candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal
peer equity.  Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected
individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $65,590- $77,976 CAD
